Atlas Copco Launches Latest Diesel-Powered Portable Dewatering Pumps
Friday, 08 August 2014
Global industrial equipment provider Atlas Copco introduced the newest addition to expanding their dewatering pump array with leading-edge diesel-powered portable dewatering pump systems, Engineered to operate under tough working environments where power is not immediately available, this latest released PAS diesel-driven pump series now features dry-prime units that vary from four, six and eight inches.
Various industrial applications including carrying or transporting water with abrasive solids in suspension, and dewatering at mine sites, construction sites, sewage bypass, stream diversion and floodwater are some of the major uses of this environmentally sustainable, oil-free vacuum pump priming system.
“The PAS combines high performance with minimum operating expense. For rental companies and dewatering contractors, this is extremely important as it enables them to get a faster return on equipment acquisition costs, which is exactly what they require to stay competitive,” stated Abet Cantuba, Atlas Copco’s Product Marketing Manager Pumps.
With a maximum head of up to 37 metres, the PAS 4, PAS 6, and PAS 8 pumps are integrally geared to operate within a flow range of 50 to 600 cubic metres per hour. These pumps can also handle solids up to 76 millimeters. Powered with a high-performance Kubota engine, these pumps can perform even with full loads. A larger cooler capacity also makes for safe and steady procedures during high ambient conditions.
Equipped with a skid fuel tank, the Atlas Copco PAS vacuum pumps can work for several days without refueling. The dewatering equipment guarantees cost-effective and highly efficient fuel usage. Its PAS pump design, easy-to-use controller module, and large panels also allow users to effortlessly access and operate the machine, while complementary equipment like lifting eye, canopy and forklift slots are provided for easy transportation and storage.
Starting this August, the Atlas Copco’s Zaragoza factory in Spain begins manufacturing of the new PAS pump range.
Driven by the critical demand for “fast and reliable dewatering first and foremost“ to get the job done, Atlas Copco continues on its dedication to deliver sustainable solutions for industrial applications through their world-class compressed air machinery and air treatment systems, assembly systems, and mining and construction equipment, among other power tools.
